Hello Resident,
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ Summary: The North of Solihull have had our off-road bike team, traffic unit, and our drone team deployed to continue addressing the issue with the anti-social and illegal use of motorbikes, mopeds, e-bikes and off road bikes on Friday - this was in collaboration with the Smiths Wood neighbourhood team and Chelmsley Wood neighbourhood team. It was a very successful operation seeing 4 illegal bikes being taken off the road within a few hours.
The team have also placed a prolific shoplifter under arrest as he was in the process of committing another shop theft! This is a fantastic result as we know the affect that shoplifting has on our local communities and businesses in our areas. The team had multiple early morning starts in order to bring this particular offender in, putting in a lot of effort to do so, making this an excellent result based on the hard work our officers put in.
One of our Fordbridge PCSOs had come across a suspicious Ford Ranger on a quiet Cul-De-Sac in Chelmsley Wood, and upon further investigation, it was found to have been stolen out of Solihull! The vehicle was immediately seized for our forensic team to take a look at, and will be returned to the owner in due course. This is another great result based on the hard work our team puts into preventing and detecting vehicle crime, and just proves our proactivity goes a long way! 📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅 🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨 🔎 Recent Incidents/Trends: ✅ Crime Prevention Tips: 💬 To help us combat theft from/of motor vehicle, please make sure your vehicle is locked, secure, and nothing of value is visible from the outside to deter opportunistic offenders from damaging your vehicle in order to get to anything you may have left in view. Prevention is key; steering locks are inexpensive and easily found in local motoring shops, or through a reliable online retailer. You should also place any keyless entry vehicle keys in a faraday pouch in order to prevent relay theft - these are also inexpensive and easily found through online retailers, or at any of our drop-in sessions where we regularly give them out. 📞 How to Contact Us or Report Information 📞 💬 Stay Connected with Your Local Team: Helpful links -Crime prevention advice | West Midlands Police -Keep burglars out of your property | West Midlands Police -How safe is your flat? | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police -Chelmsley Wood | Your area | West Midlands Police | West Midlands Police Make sure to keep your eye on our West Midlands Police neighbourhood page on the above link for any community events planned - Fordbridge officers have a Cuppa with a Coppa planned on the 4th of April 2026 at Lily's Tea Parlour located on Maple Walk in the Chelmsley Wood town centre - please don't hesitate to come along. 🤝🏼 Thank you for working with us to keep Chelmsley Wood safe and informed.
